EC Research Projects
TSC are currently involved in several EC part funded projects under the 7th Framework. These projects are:

Advanced inspection of train wheel sets for the rail industry. Technologies include ACFM, Phased-array, Acoustic-emission, high-frequency vibration, thermography and visual inspection. Inspection is conducted online (train in motion) and offline (train stopped for routine maintenance).

| SubCtest | Subsea inspection of complex weld nodes, used in offshore structure jackets. ACFM, long range ultrasonics (LRUT) and Phased-array adapted for use subsea, to be deployed by ROV. This project has recently been completed. |
| Interail | NDT inspection of rails, whilst train is travelling at high speeds. Technologies include high-speed ACFM, phased-array, Acoustic-emission and optical methods. |
| Nimo | Condition monitoring and advanced inspection techniques for the wind turbine industry. Technologies include stressprobe, for the measurement of loads at the base of the tower, Acoustic-emission and high-frequency vibration. Monitoring takes place on the blades, nacelle and tower. |
