The Alternating Current Field Measurement (ACFM) was originally developed in the early 1990's for the sub-sea and topside inspections of offshore structures without the need to remove the item protective coating.
The oil and gas industry still remains the largest application area for ACFM (including offshore installations, refineries, process plant, risers and pipelines) but use in other industries is fast catching up.
