Courses

CSWIP level 1 approved operators courses are provided by TWI North. The course has recently been CSWIP approved and results in a CSWIP qualification for successful rail inspectors, a requirement for all major contractors working for Network Rail.

Courses are held at TWI North in Middlesborough, United Kingdom.

TWI Training and Examination has developed a training and examination programme based on the CSWIP Document ISO-NDT-93R, for the automated NDT inspection of rails.

Level 1 course content:

Overview of NDT techniques, electrical and electromagnetic theory, ACFM detection, identification of cracks, length and depth sizing, reporting.

Courses are 4 days duration followed by a 1 day examination.
