acpd Crack Depth Measurement

from TSC Inspection Systems

ACPD is a potential drop technique used primarily for depth sizing surface breaking defects in metals.

ACPD requires electrical contact with the component and is particularly suited to crack monitoring during structural testing.

TSC manufacture and sell ACPD instruments capable of multi-site inputs. These systems can be used with manually deployed probes to make spot measurements of crack depth, or can be used with fixed multiple probes to allow 'continuous' monitoring of crack growth.

A modern ACPD inspection system comprises a mains powered instrument with state-of-the-art low noise analogue electronics coupled with a built in control system and easy-to-use Microsoft Windows based data display software.

Advantages of using ACPD systems from TSC include:

  • TSC staff have many years experience in the application of ACPD in a wide range of applications
  • Products for crack measurement or continuous monitoring generally available ex-stock
  • Experienced engineers and product development teams can offer bespoke ACPD systems
  • First class customer support
