ASSISTu

The ASSISTu (ACFM Software Suite for the Inspection of STructures Underwater) software package provides U31 instrument control, data collection, storage and analysis. ASSISTu supports all underwater standard and array probes in a variety of configurations.

ASSISTu Features

ASSISTu supports underwater probes through a number of easy to use views and program features, for example,

  • Surface map views available as coloured contour maps to provide an overview of large inspected areas.
  • Supports array probes for inspection of wide 2D surfaces or multiple regions at the same time (e.g. weld toe+cap+HAZ).
  • Supports non linear defect orientations i.e. transverse and diagonal defects.
  • Supports position feedback data (common on ACFM arrays), providing defect length estimates automatically.

Many other features come as standard with the ASSISTu software. Some are outlined below:

  • Automatic control & configuration of the U31 instrument.
  • Data is displayed real-time allowing defect detection immediately.
  • Crack sizing produces both length and depth results.
  • Provides professional inspection reports of inspection data and results.
  • Supports 'Pick and Place' probe operation, particularly suited to ROV operation.
  • Inspection and results can be annotated for auditing and further analysis.
  • Supports and records the positions of multiple defects per scan.
  • Contains full online illustrated user manual and procedures.
  • Provides colour region marking for anomalous areas (e.g. seam welds, undercuts).
  • Supports simple manual ACFM probes as well as arrays.
